Founded in the Spring of 2010 by Dr. Regina A. Bernard-Carreño, The 425 Book Club Project is a creation stemming from the belief that critical pedagogy, can and has changed the way the world is related to our lives and the lives of others. With the solidarity, creativity, love of books, passion for change, and dedicated ideas of young Freireans, Dr. Bernard-Carreño gathered a few of her undergraduate students at Baruch College, at all levels of their college careers, to take the promotion of literacy to another level.
Through projects, social events, fundraisers, class work, and solidarity we believe in pedagogia liberatadora!
We hope that you too will join us in the fight against illiteracy.
